Today I was heading to the pretty village of Shustoke, near Coleshill, to be Kim and Thomas’s Shustoke Barn wedding photographer. Set in rolling countryside this stunning, exclusive use Warwickshire barn wedding venue is a regular venue for me and one I thoroughly enjoy working at.
My first location of the day was The Granary at Dovehouse Farm which was just 2 minutes from Shustoke Village. In this beautiful cottage Kim and the bridal party were enjoying their final preparations for the big day, before Kim took the short journey with her father over to the barn.
Inside the stunning 18th century barn, Thomas and the guests had arrived for the ceremony. The barn with its elevated timber ceiling, oak beams and flagstone floors gave a wonderful rustic charm. The sunshine outside, gleaming through the windows just added to the perfect setting for Kim, Thomas and their guests to enjoy the wedding ceremony.
Afterwards, everyone headed outside into the courtyard for a drinks reception, confetti throwing and family photos. The delightful courtyard with its ancient olive trees and timber arches provided a lovely area for the guests to relax whilst Kim and Thomas explored the grounds of the red brick barn in glorious sunshine for their portrait shots.
It was soon time for everyone to make their way into the barn. The team of fantastic chefs had prepared a delicious wedding breakfast for all to enjoy, which was then followed with some great speeches. There was certainly a bit of a tea party theme to the day and and after more drinks and cake cutting there was fun in the courtyard with the bouquet toss.
As early evening provided a glorious light Kim, Thomas and I headed over into the nearby fields to capture some portrait shots before returning to their guests to enjoy toasted marshmallows around the fire pit.
Evening celebrations got underway inside the magically illuminated interior of the barn. Kim and Thomas took to the dance floor for a superbly choreographed first dance, a real treat for the guests 🙂
Afterwards, it was back outside for a little while for sparklers and twilight shots before Kim and Thomas rejoined their guests in the barn to enjoy their celebrations.
