For Shannon and Louis’s big day I headed over to Solihull to provide wedding photography at Hogarths Hotel. Hogarths is located in the lovely village of Dorridge, standing in its own extensive, beautiful & secluded grounds. This former manor house is an award winning venue, perfect for your wedding day.
I arrived to meet up with Shannon in one of the hotel’s wonderfully appointed suites. There was certainly a hive of activity with Shannon, her 4 bridesmaids and 3 flower girls enjoying bridal prep. Once it was time to leave for church Shannon’s father escorted her to an awaiting Bentley on the driveway.
Shannon and Louis’s wedding ceremony was taking place at Knowle Parish Church. This very large, impressive Grade l church is over 600 years old and stands in the heart of the charming village. Arriving at church, Louis and the wedding guests had just escaped the rain but Shannon needed her Dad armed with his umbrella to keep her dry! A massive rainstorm followed, however it did not distract from everyone enjoying the lovely wedding ceremony. The timing could not have been better, as the sun came out, just as Shannon and Louis came out of church. After the traditional confetti and family photos the wedding party set off to Hogarths.
There was a warm welcome at Hogarths with an enjoyable drinks reception, before family photos in the gardens. Shannon and Louis then explored the grounds and found some stunning woodland and stream backdrops for their portraits. It was then time for the wedding breakfast and speeches which took place in the Garden Suite. This suite is a starlit marquee with views over the garden, just a fantastic setting.
There was still plenty of evening sunshine for the guests to enjoy and more photo opportunities for Shannon and Louis. Whilst everyone was outside, The Garden Suite had been transformed for the evening celebrations. After cake cutting, Shannon had a dance with her father. Shannon and Louis then had their first dance before a few final twi-light photos.
