It was a wonderful sunny, summer day as I made my way over to meet up with Becky who was getting ready at her Auntie’s house in Four Oaks. Becky was with her friend Hayley and enjoying a calm bridal prep with a glass of champagne before getting ready to make the short journey to church in a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce.
Meanwhile, Steven and the guests had gathered at St John’s The Baptist Church. This lovely church dates back to Anglo-Saxon times and is located at the top of St John’s Hill in the attractive village of Shenstone.
At the start of the ceremony it was great to see Becky and Steven’s sons walking down the aisle as ring bearers before Becky arrived in church and was given away by her father. After a thoroughly enjoyable service conducted by Rev’d Liz Chamberlain the guests gathered in the churchyard to greet Becky and Steven with the confetti. Afterwards we found some shady spots in the church grounds for a few family and portrait shots before heading over to The Barn at Lichfield.
The Barn is located on the border of Lichfield surrounded by beautiful Staffordshire countryside. The Barn is a Country Pub and Kitchen that has been lovingly restored in a charming traditional style .
Before the Wedding Breakfast whilst some guests relaxed and others had a game of football, Becky had some portraits taken in the scenic garden. I also had a chance to photograph Becky and Steven with their cake. The cake topper was superb “The Hunt is Over” 🙂 The Barn’s Leamonsley private dining room provided a relaxing setting for the Wedding Breakfast, having great views over the Leamonsley estate and manor house. After everyone had enjoyed wonderful food and great speeches Becky was persuaded to join in the second half of a football match 🙂
After the final whistle & with the beautiful evening light, I then captured a few more portrait shots before leaving Becky and Steven to enjoy the rest of their evening celebrations with their guests.
