Zoe & Jason’s wedding day took me to a venue I’ve known for years with many family events taking place there but this was my first time photographing a wedding there. The Manor Hotel in Meriden, West Midlands is a charming wedding venue situated pretty well as close to the centre of England as its is possible to get. Popping down to the beach for a few photos really isn’t an option from here :-), but the hotel & its grounds make for a wonderful backdrop to your wedding photos.
The day started with Zoe & the girls getting ready in one of the Manor’s rooms, thoroughly enjoying themselves & totally ignoring the torrential rain hammering down outside!! To say it was a day of mixed weather is the understatement of the decade, starting with pouring rain & finishing in blazing sunshine. With everybody gathering in the Hotel it was easy for me to nip between the girl’s prep & Jason & the guests gathering in the lobby.
Ceremony time was soon upon us & we all headed in for a lovely ceremony conducted in a fun way by the Solihull Registrars. The weather was still misbehaving after the ceremony & so we chose to grab a few shots on the amazing staircase & then chill out, enjoy the drinks reception & head out for photos in the evening, such was our confidence in the weather forecast. A brief lull in the downpour did give us a chance though to nip outside for a big group shot & confetti before scampering back inside.
The wedding breakfast & speeches were enjoyed by all & sure enough we headed out into beautiful evening light for family photos & shots of Zoe & Jason before once again heading in for the evening celebrations.
As a final note huge congratulations to Zoe & Jason on the arrival of baby Amelia on 30th September 🙂
