The heart of Birmingham city centre was the location for Gemma & Dan’s big day at the amazing Hotel Du Vin. The former Birmingham eye hospital has been converted into a stunning hotel & really does make for a stunning setting for wedding photography.
Gemma & the girls were making the most of the sumptuous Penfold suite when I arrived with prep in full swing. I think a first for me was photographing Gemma’s beautiful dress in the bathroom but then the bathroom was grander & probably bigger than my house 🙂
With everybody at the hotel bright & early it was great to be able to get some scene setting shots of the Krug ceremony room & meet up with Dan & the guys to get a few shots of them in between popping in & out of the Penfold suite.
Ceremony time soon came round though & we all headed to the Krug suite for a lovely, fun packed ceremony conducted delightfully by the Birmingham Registrars.
Gemma & Dan had allowed very generous timings in planning their day & it was great to be able to capture them greeting their guests & enjoying the drinks reception & the courtyard certainly made a great setting for the confetti shot before we nipped out onto the city centre streets to get a few shots around the hotel.
It was soon time to head back to the Krug suite for the wedding breakfast & great speeches which certainly went down well with everybody although Dan did suffer at the hands of his bestman!
With first dance time fast approaching we grabbed a quiet moment in the amazing wine cellar before Gemma & Dan hit the dancefloor.
