On Saturday 13th July I was a little off my local patch to be Lydia & Tom’s wedding photographer in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. With the sun shining a drive up the M1 found me at Lydia’s parents home where Lydia & the girls were all getting ready for the day ahead. Not even the discovery that the mini-usher Jacks trousers were about 4 sizes too small flustered Lydia & the problem was calmly resolved although Jack seemed a little disappointed that he couldn’t wear his shorts!
I headed off to the beautiful Christ Church, Fulwood to catch up with Tom & the guys for a few shots before popping back to the house to capture Lydia & her Dad heading off to church in a lovely, characterful, Triumph Herald.
A quick dash round the corner enabled me to capture Lydia’s arrival & off we went into church for a lovely, very personal ceremony.
Back out into the sunshine & what followed was one of the most enjoyable parts of my wedding photography this year. Lydia had specifically requested that we go to a part of the Peak District that meant a lot to her & so with the Triumph Herald bravely tackling the hills we headed into the countryside.Time had been allowed for this detour & we had a great time enjoying the scenery & capturing some lovely photos in a setting I would love to shoot at any time!
Heading back into Sheffield we were soon at the amazing Firth Court in Sheffield University for the family group photos & socks!
The wedding breakfast & speeches followed in the stunning hall & after a couple more photos in the quad we headed in for Lydia & Tom’s first dance.
