Monica & Michael had booked me a good while ago to be their wedding photographer for their autumn wedding at Highbury Hall. Located barely 3 miles from Birmingham City centre you wouldn’t realise it as this elegant Grade II listed mansion house sits in its own quiet & secluded grounds, making for a wonderful Birmingham City Centre Wedding Venue. Commissioned by & formerly the home of local MP Joseph Chamberlain. the hall is now in the care of Birmingham City Council who offer it as an exclusive use wedding venue.
The charming Miss Hilda’s suite was a lovely setting for Monica & the girls to ready themselves for the day ahead whist Michael greeted the guests in the stunning two storey high Main Hall before we all headed into the drawing room for the wedding ceremony.
From first meeting Monica & Michael, laughter & fun had been the order of the day & this shone through in the ceremony which was roundly enjoyed by everybody in the room 🙂
Sadly, the poor weather forecast came true just as the ceremony finished & so with the rain beating down we made us of Highbury Hall’s lovely interior for the photos before settling into the Main Hall for the wedding breakfast & speeches.
A very brief break in the weather gave us the chance to nip outside for a few photos with the backdrop of a very stormy sky before the rain returned.
The Drawing Room was the location for the evening entertainment & the guests all filled the room to thoroughly enjoy Monica & Michael’s first dance.
