The heart of Birmingham was the destination for Natalie and Steven’s wedding. I had the pleasure of providing Cobden Hotel wedding photography. My journey started by making my way over to Northfield to Natalie and Steven’s lovely family home to meet up with Natalie for bridal prep. With the excitement of the day ahead Natalie was calm and happy with her two adorable Sons as pageboys, mum and her team of bridesmaids around her. As Dad caught that first emotional glimpse she made her final preparations and I headed off to church ahead of the bridal party.
The charming church of St Laurence in Northfield was the setting for the ceremony. Inside the lovely traditional interior of the church Steven and the guests had gathered ahead of the ceremony. The bridal party made their journey to church in beautiful vintage cars provided by Celebration Wedding Cars, with Natalie and her Dad arriving in a stunning Rolls Royce. A very enjoyable ceremony was conducted by the vicar, together with readings from guests followed by signing of the register which would not have been complete without the help of their little boys 🙂
After the ceremony Natalie and Steven had a chance to have some portraits and family shots taken. The breeze in the air certainly gave Natalie a challenge with her veil and the historical village pound adjacent to the church made a unusual spot for some light hearted images.
The wedding day celebrations continued as everyone made their journey to The Cobden Hotel in Edgbaston Birmingham. This hotel is set in the heart of the city, ideally located for a Birmingham City Centre wedding. The spacious Cobden Suite overlooking the gardens was a great setting for the wedding breakfast. All the guests got the surprise of their lives when half way through the wedding breakfast two of the waiters burst into song. Main Course Singing Waiters got everyone up on their feet and gave everyone a wedding breakfast to remember 🙂
With the evening light upon us guests made their way out into the gardens to take part in the traditional confetti throwing and to join in Natalie’s bouquet toss. In the gardens I also had the chance to capture more portraits with Natalie, Steven and the boys.
Back inside the Cobden Suite the evening celebrations carried on with Natalie and Steven having their first dance alongside their illuminated Love sign before everyone took to the dance floor.
It was great to be part of Natalie and Steven’s special day and to also have the pleasure of being their wedding photographer.
