On Saturday May 3rd I was in Birmingham to be Alessandra & Guy’s wedding photographer. Beautiful spring sunshine greeted us & the day started with Alessandra & the girls getting ready in very jovial spirits at Alessandra & Guy’s Harborne apartment. A quick dash acrosss town found me at the beautiful St Edburgha’s church in Yardley village. Guy & the guests were all enjoying the sunshine until Alessandra arrived in a beautiful, bright red, classic Fiat 500. Can there be a cooler way for an Italian bride to arrive at church 🙂
Slightly breaking with tradition Alessandra & Guy entered church together & we all thoroughly enjoyed a lovely ceremony. Back out into the sunshine & the newly weds braved a deluge of rice from all the guests before we headed into the beautiful churchyard for a few photos. Soon though it was time to head into the countryside to the stunning west midlands wedding venue, the Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club. Once again the warm weather was enjoyed by the guests before we headed into the marquee for the wedding breakfast & speeches which were enlivened by being in English & Italian although I’m not sure how many of the guests followed Guy’s Italian 🙂 An extra speech was made to describe & thank Alessandra & Guy for the tireless work they do for Acorn’s Children’s Hospice & I know that everybody in the room was very touched by this.
The light was fading fast outside but we nipped out for a few photos on the golf course before it was time for Alessandra & Guy to take to the dance floor for their first dance.
